Moving

Last night I helped my younger sister move into her first house. It was a pretty exciting event! My whole family was involved in the moving process and boy was it an experience! There were two babies and a toddler present so chaos was expected. My two year old niece was getting into EVERYTHING and asking about everything as well. However at times she would do her fair share of work. :)

As for the house itself, it's beautiful. My sister said that the house is so old that they didn't even have an abstract on it, but judging from its features probably dates to the 1800s! It has all wood floors and a recently refinished kitchen. There is an awesome backyard that has a stone pathway leading to the patio area. Surrounding the house are tons of plants which compliment the house very well. I'm in love with it and it's not even my house!

I'm so excited for my sister and her family to grow in their new house, and hope that it creates nothing but happiness for them!

Job Hunt

This Saturday I will be attending the career fair along with a few friends here at Kirkwood. I hope that I can find a few that could be potential full-time jobs! I have my eye on a few that sound interesting that are around the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. Along with a new job, comes a new home. My friend and I are starting to look around Cedar Rapids for houses for rent...which has been difficult at times finding decent living conditions! So, if anyone has any suggestions, by all means throw them my way. Hopefully we can find something relatively soon, however we also have to put into account where one another's job location will be. It's kind of exciting & scary at the same time, because of the fear of not knowing what lies ahead. I got into such a routine with attending school and work, it will be another change of lifestyle moving from college to my career. Well...enough of me blabbing on. I will write next week.

CRAMMIN TIME!

So it is narrowing down to a few weeks left of school, and I feel like I can't keep track of all the things that happen during the course of each day! I have tons of projects due in my classes, and a portfolio & resume to build as well. I'm just trying to keep my head on straight with all that has been going on lately. However, I know that in the end it will all be worth it. It's all a little nerve-racking. I hope all is well with everyone else! 'Till then....chao!

About Me

First off I'll give a brief background of myself. I have two sisters, an older and a younger...therefore I'm the middle one. In the past two years I have become an aunt to Ava, my niece, and Ethan & Travyn, my nephews. We all live in Manchester, which is approx. 45 min. away from Cedar Rapids. I make a daily commute to CR for school and work. I just recently got hired on as a Graphic Design intern, which has proven to be a great learning experience for me, especially since I'll be graduating this May! It will also be good to have gotten more experience than just in-class projects. I also work every other weekend at Casey's.

My favorite hobbies include, making art, going to concerts, spending time with family, etc. I enjoy art a lot, which is why I am majoring in Graphic Communications. My favorite thing to do involving art is drawing. I really like doing portraitures & every now and again abstract art. It is interesting to try and recreate an existing piece of art (of mine) in a program such as Illustrator or Photoshop. I have been to quite a few concerts including, John Mayer, Incubus, A Perfect Circle, Tool, and the Melvins. I have a wide variety of music I like...mostly alternative music. The funniest thing to do is watch my niece Ava carry on & on about everything under the sun (with the attitude of a teen) and she's only 2 1/2 years old!

That's all I have for now...
